A sink size should be read as more than a bowl count. Buyers need to distinguish the overall product dimensions from the internal bowl dimensions, then check the available space, drainage arrangement and working flow around the sink.

Dimensions are presented as length × depth × height where all three values are listed.
Overall size and bowl size are different
The overall size describes the footprint and working height of the complete sink. The bowl dimensions describe the usable space inside each bowl. A 1200 mm double-bowl sink does not automatically mean two 600 mm internal bowls because frames, gaps and edges also occupy space. Ask for confirmed bowl dimensions when they affect trays, cookware or washing procedures.
Measure the installation area
- Available wall length and depth
- Finished floor-to-worktop height
- Doorways, corners and access to the installation position
- Drain outlet and water connection locations
- Clearance for staff and adjacent equipment
- Whether a backsplash or additional accessories are required
